So I have played RuneScape before. Is your version bad? It looks like I hear talk about people playing with old school RuneScape. I kinda like OSRS gold idea of collecting ore and smithing gear to sell to people. Is that really feasible, or is RuneScape game at some stage where that a thing? Its thing in OSRS. It is possible to do it but it will not be"profitable". You would be creating cannonballs for profit. RS3 might be better if you want to create some form of profit although I guess if you like to role play making weapons and armor then by all means do so.
RS3 recently reworked its smithing by smithing if thats what you want attempt RS3, and the end game best in slot armor is actually created. The new version (rather: original version that has been upgraded) isn't'bad', it's actually quite enjoyable. The 2 games have quite different design philosophies. OSRS is much slower paced in every facet: slower to level, slower to travel, slower to kill monsters. OSRS is more about the journey, although it still has things to do at endgame. RS3 is more about getting one to endgame quickly enjoy a modern MMO. Some people enjoy that, some don't. But do not get me wrong, it is going to take you some time to get to endgame in RS3, longer than any MMO that is contemporary as OSRS.
OSRS and RS3 also disagree on battle systems, OSRS being much more like cookie clicker and RS3 being more like scuffed wow. Fundamentally, the battle systems are both essentially the same - you can turn off your brain, watch animations and acquiring phat loot in either game. The reason people do not talk about RS3 is due to the big bad boogeyman - micro-transactions. You can essentially buy max level in case you're willing to fall over 10 grand. You are able to buy gold in both games, such as wow tokens. It's feasible, a profit will be made by you, but perhaps not ideal. It's actually viable in RS3 because of the mining and smithing rework.
RS3, the"primary" game is just so-so. OSRS is the game that is popular, and it deserves it too since it's more fun imo. Smithing the equipment isn't a great way to generate money unless you're in free to play and Collecting ore, then smithing rune 2h swords is a fantastic money maker. It's often seen as not viable as the grind to obtain the required levels is very long and there are far better choices to produce money. Collecting ore is a profitable method to more gold on rsgoldfast by itself. Additionally you are able to smith cannonballs but xp/hr and the gp/hr isn't terrific. But it's afk, therefore some people like it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not think he is asking if it is profitable or not. I believe he saying if there's a market for gathering ore, subsequently specifically selling equipment such as it used to work, to people outside exchange that is grand. But since Grand Exchange is currently a thing that is no longer an alternative. As RS3, it's really great for. Better in a Great Deal of ways than OSRS. But the biggest difference (well, aside nostalgia and mtx) is only the grade of OSRS updates versus that of RS3.
